I have been fascinated by patterns and patterns within patterns for most of my life. I particularly love oriental rugs and every now and then find myself playing with pattern against pattern, often organic shapes against or within geometric shapes, and configurations with individual sheets of paper that create additional shapes to bring out a concept that appeals visually and sometimes philosophically to me. Below are several works done over many years that illustrate this interest.

Work In Progress

I see the combination of sheets to form another structure and the interest in detail as part of an abstracting process hence the inclusion of these two paintings.
